Dr Cynthia Stephens-Himonides has been teaching piano at all levels for 30 years. As a university professor in the USA, she taught piano and was a teacher-trainer and group piano specialist.

Her Doctorate is in piano pedagogy and music education, and her Master’s of Music in piano performance.

She has presented research at international, national and state conferences and contributed articles to the International Journal of Music Education, Bulletin for the Council of Research in Music Education, Update, Journal of Technology in Music Learning, Keyboard Companion, and Piano Pedagogy Forum.

She is also chair of the Research Committee of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy and has served as a Foreign Expert in China and Research Associate at the Institute of Education in London, UK.
